As you all know, tragedy has hit our community hard with the loss of Phoenix Police Officer David Glasser, who was shot in the line of duty on May 18. Yesterday, the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association held a full day BBQ and fundraiser in support of Officer Glasser’s Family. It was an emotional day, but I want to thank everyone who came out to North Mountain Brewery to show their support. I am so proud of our community coming together to support the family of Officer Glasser and our law enforcement.
I am always amazed at the selfless acts of kindness I get to witness in our community. During last night’s event, Michael and Jake (pictured below) donated $500 from proceeds they raised by doing a car wash in their neighborhood. What incredible young men and what an inspiration to us all. Thanks Michael and Jake for your donation and thank you to everyone who donated to such great causes yesterday.
If you haven’t done so already, I would like to encourage all of you to support organizations who support our first responders in times of tragedy by either making a donation the 100 Club of Arizona (www.100club.org) or the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association (www.plea.com).
For those of you who want to pay your respects, Officer Glasser’s funeral services will be held tomorrow, Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Christ Church of the Valley, 7007 W. Happy Valley Rd., at 10 am with a processional to Phoenix Memorial Park and Cemetery, 200 W. Beardsley Rd., immediately following the ceremony.
Again, thank you for your support.
